Concert session of the project group New Music - Bremen
….Musical culmination of the concert session and also in the ability
to evoke the most
disparate reactions, ranging from approval to indignation was doubtlessly
H. J. Hespos’s twenty two year old composition “Seiltanz“
(Rope-dance) which was performed in the Youth Theatre of Bremen’s goods
station.
This true “stage adventure” for six wind instruments, double bass,
a percussionist
who throughout the show solders him self out of a metal tank and a performer
is danger music for both, the interpreters and the audience.
It provoked and amused, edging in its sound and scenario on heights of impossible
situations, not only in respect of hearing but also in critical thinking.
Excellent interpreters were engaged for the show – The Ensemble Phoenix
Basel
and the performer Mateng Pollkläsener who armed with a wooden beam and
a metal tab produced neck breaking (hair raising) sounds.
